What Makes Me Happy Today Friday October 1st

The Hubs worked late last night, so I was able to choose whatever it was I wanted for dinner. I chose frozen Gummi Worms and Microwave Popcorn...I enjoyed this gourmet meal with the air conditioning on, in clean PJ's, while catching up on my DVR'd episodes of Keeping Up With the Kardashians...and I was in HEAVEN!

What Makes Me Happy Today Wednesday Sept 29th

My coffee with 2 Splenda and Half & Half and Pint Glass with Crushed Ice and Cold Water. When I arrive at my office I dump my bag at my desk and head to the kitchen. Its my morning ritual, and I take comfort in that!

Mums Make Me Happy!

I spent yesterday reorganizing and DEEP cleaning my house (it needed it!!), and planting my Autumn Window Baskets! I feel like a NEW WOMAN!! Work up nice and early, threw on yoga pants, a good sports bra, my fav junk T shirt, rubber gloves and pulled my hair into a tight pony tail...That's my "Don't mess with me I'm on a mission" outfit! And boy, I kicked this condo's @$$! I was exhausted by the end of the day, but I was reveling in the soothing comfort of my very clean house. The Hubs' and I had a yummy dinner of left over spaghetti (which tastes better the older it gets!) and at 9 o'clock he and the dog were snoring (not so softly) on the couch. I put them both to bed. I wiped down my counters, and turned on my dishwasher, and just stood in the dimmed light of my kitchen listening to the smooth humming of the pre-rinse cycle. I looked around and realized, this is it...I have everything I've always wanted...A beautiful home, a loving husband, a loyal dog (as loyal as a Shih Tzu named princess can be), a rapidly blossoming career, and a solid group of family & friends that support me.
I have worked hard at creating a life that I love, and am extremely grateful. As a late 20-something, living in NYC and working in the industry I work in, I feel that fulfillment and gratefulness is few and far between amongst my counterparts. I promise to always be grateful for the life I have created for my myself.

I'm Back....

Sorry for the three week hiatus in the Blog world but things have reached a whole new level of craziness around here! Both the hubs' and I returned from our wedding and it's been nothing but happy news career wise! The Hubs' signed a deal with one of the WORLD'S largest beer companies to head their sales training efforts, and I, as of Monday have been promoted to National FMR Program Director for the account I'm working on! (Cue sounds of champagne popping and fireworks!)
I'm excited to move into the next chapter of my career, working along side my mentor and with such a phenomenal all female team! This new position will have me traveling to some of the country's most fabulous cities and I can't wait to share my adventures! First stop, Las Vegas, I leave first thing tomorrow morning!! Photos and reports to follow!
I'm back and I'm REALLY excited!

"The Best of NYC" Quest

So this past Saturday afternoon I surprised the Hubs' with a "Foodie Adventure" right here in our backyard NYC! I researched the top 6 places to get Lobster Rolls, a summer classic and one of our personal favorites, created a "walking tour" list, grabbed my camera and we hit the road!
Our first stop was Mary's Fish Camp on Charles Street in the West Village. I fell in love the instant we walked in! Its tiny and adorable, with a stainless steel topped bar, vintage artwork,

and an open kitchen. The two girls working behind the counter were bubbly, sweet, and engaging...The kind of place you could hang out all day drinking beers, chatting with friends, and sampling ALL of the different dishes on their scrumptious menu!

On a scale of 1-10 both Sam & I gave the Lobster Roll a 7. The hot dog bun was buttery and golden brown, and the huge pieces of lobster made each bite exciting!
For presentation the Hubs' gave them an 8 out of 10, where I gave Mary's a 5 (It looked fab, but didn't blow me away)

We both gave Mary's Fish Camp "bonus points" for the awesome shoe string french fries that came with the Lobster Roll, as well as the beautiful, crisp pints of Ommegang Witte, which in my book is the PERFECT pairing for this dish.

Mary's Fish Camp, the first stop on the Samily Family NYC "Best of" Foodie Walking Tour - Lobster Roll, got a total combined score of 33 out of 40!

We love Mary's Fish Camp and cannot wait to go back!

Stay tuned for Stop #2 Ditch Plains at 29 Bedford Street!

My Fav Cocktail of the Week

Living in NYC and working in the 'Adult Beverage' Industry, I come across a lot of "drinks" "cocktails" and "concoctions" This cocktail, "The Pineapple Cinnamon Mojito" featured on the menu at the Rose Bar at the Gramercy Park Hotel is absolutely to die for!

Sailor Jerry Rum shaken with muddled fresh pineapple, mint, lemon juice and topped with cinnamon foam!
